This blog design and development for a Milwaukee area CPA uses Wordpress enhanced with a few Worpdress plugins. Logo design, search engine optimization, and analytics integration were also involved in this project.

Tap Milwaukee

My largets project to date, Tap Milwaukee is the newly organized, branded, and revitalized entertainment section of JSOnline. I worked on this site beginning with the brainstorming sessions, saw it through multiple rounds of design, spent 6 weeks working alongside developers on the code, and helped to launch and maintain the site.

Camp Fair

Formerly an annual event, the Camp Fair event went through a digital transformation for the 2011 season. I designed and helped to code and manage this product, including customizing a jQuery carousel plugin.

Packers Fan Picks

This mini-site encouraged JSOnline readers to predict how the Packers would do in the 2010-2011 season. The gritty design provides an interface for a powerful searching and sorting engine.

Bennos Bar and Grill

A Milwaukee favorite, Bennos Bar and Grill serves great food and has an amazing variety of beer on tap. Their web presence, however, was always sorely lacking so I helped them to design and maintain this simple yet useful website.

Star Journal Now

Star Journal Now is the online home of the Rhinelander area publication, The Star Journal. Using a templated family of sites, this site was designed and coded in less than 4 hours.

WI State Farmer

The Wisconsin State Farmer is a weekly publication that provides farming news and stories from Wisconsin and the surrounding area. I redesigned the website and assisted with importing it into a new CMS.

Sports Show

The Journal Sentinel sports show showcases outdoor sporting equipment every spring. The site had been maintained as ASP files so I was tasked with redesigning it and porting the site into the Clickability CMS.

Message of Hope

This mini-site allows friends and family of cancer survivors to post messages of hope which are displayed on the site as well as in a special section of the Journal Sentinel.

Nanospark

Developed for a Wisconsin technology start-up, this Wordpress powered website showcases new technology, innovation, and connects the customer to it through a shopping cart.

Surry Hill Trends

Surry Hill Trends is a subscriber-based website set up with Wordpress. This custom blog design, theme development, and subscription integration project uses several Wordpress plugins and Wordpress 3.0 features.

Down 2 Earth Nutrion

This Wordpress site was designed and developed for a Milwaukee area start-up which provides nutrition and general health consulting services. This is the first site developed with my front-end framework which has greatly shortened development time.

Darkhouse Studios

Developed with the Erlang powered Zotonic CMS, the Darkhouse Studios site was developed for a Milwaukee area video game start-up. With the site design and development completed, the content producers are adding content through the CMS as it becomes available.

JSOnline Redesign

These are my proposed changes to the JSOnline homepage. The designs aim to give the page a clean and modern look through bold, simple colors, consistency in style, and by better organizing content. The ever-present problems of inconsitency in title length, thumbnail size, and number of stories per section were solved by placing all main stories in a center column.

Holiday Gift Guide

A seasonal online directory listing provided by the Journal Sentinel, the 2011 Holiday Gift Guide features local businesses that offer holiday specials.

Institute on Race & Ethnicity

Created as a student worker, the IRE website is the most expansive website I have independently developed. The project began with analyzing the IRE's legacy website to determine areas of needed improvement, and then came initial design followed by nearly 6 months of page building and feature development before release. After the site was live I trained the staff on making updates and additions using Dreamweaver.

State Street Digital Sites

A new division of my full time job creates sites and social media campaigns for external clients. I was tasked with developing a Wordpress framework upon which the sites are built, as well as designing and launching numerous projects.

Ad Design

The Washing Machine Man

This is my first freelance web design project! I developed this website for a Milwaukee area business and learned a ton about web design, development and Content Management Systems in the process.

Just One Day Without Failing

This Wordpress blog showcases my occasional moments of self-deprecating humor. Developing the site involved designing it from scratch and converting and tweaking the design into a Wordpress theme. Blogging about my shortcomings has actually become quite a cathartic and enjoyble process!

Gypsy Kitchen

This is a Wordpress blog and full website developed for a local band. Additional functionality includes a calendar integrated to the blog feed, media sections, and a PayPal cart.

Personal Music Websites

These websites were developed for my various musical ventures. I designed, developed, and continue to maintain them in my spare time. Each site features a Flash music player and recently some cool effects and animations using jQuery.

University Websites

These are sites I worked during college. My contribution to each site varied, though I was always doing at least 50% of the work on each site as a part-time student worker.

Works in Progress

These websites are still in the design and development phases. Hopefully each website will one day be finished but for now most are sitting on the back burner. This is more of a "Works kind of in Progress" section.
